The Residency Arts Program is pleased to present Changing Light, an exhibition of paintings by Jennifer Taylor in which she depicts landscapes and skyscapes that evoke a sense of place and honor the traditional custodians.

In a review of Taylor’s 2015 exhibition Paintings from Arrernte country and Aotearoa, Sascha Grishin remarks that her works ‘… are conceived of not only as records of place, but also as cultural artefacts. In a sense, Taylor’s paintings reference the people who live there and the cultural traditions inscribed in the land. Although moody and atmospheric, her paintings are also multilayered accounts of history, memory and country.’

Earlier this year, Jennifer Taylor was selected for the inaugural Creative in Residence program at the Araluen Arts Centre.
