Supported by a $ 20,000 heritage grant from the Department of Museums and Heritage in the Northern Territory, the building has been re-wired completely and re-fitted with heritage-style light fittings, switches and power points. This will bring the building up to present-day electrical standards and provide improved amenities for our on-site volunteers.

The contractor, Baney Electrical Services, is being assisted by our on-site volunteer caretakers, Brent and Chris. The work has been completed as far as possible.

Heritage Alice Springs is also grateful for the NT Government’s Heritage Grants Program which, in the recent past, has enabled the carrying out of structural repairs and the installation of security screening to Chapman House.
